Folio I · Praefatio

Every bulb you own was
engineered to die.

In 1924 the world's largest lightbulb makers met in Geneva and agreed to cap bulb life at one thousand hours. A century later the cartel is gone — but the habit remains. Your home throws away twelve bulbs every year. Two and a half billion vanish from American sockets annually, glass and mercury and copper, all to landfill, for want of a single tired filament.

We thought of the bulb as Leonardo would have done — as an organism with replaceable organs. A glass shell that lasts a generation. A brass collar that thrives on patina. A filament module that twists out, cool and inert, and twists back in. Un'unica luce per una vita intera.

Three parts. One forever.

Glass and brass last a generation. When the filament tires after a hundred thousand hours, you twist it out, and twist a new one in. Like changing a film cartridge.

I Twist · Svita

Twist the cap.

Cool the bulb. A quarter turn releases the magnetic glass cap from the brass collar. No tools. No shards. Sicuro come un orologio.

svita un quarto — a quarter-turn release.
II Swap · Cambia

Pull the filament.

The filament module slides out by its silicone tab. Drop in a fresh module — it indexes itself onto the contacts. Una mano, un secondo.

III Live · Vivi

Re-cap. Light up.

Magnets click the cap home with a satisfying thud. The same bulb glows on — another eleven years of nightly use. Per sempre.

Honest answers.

Yes. 820 lumens at 6.5 watts, with a 2700K colour and CRI 97 — visually richer than a 75W incandescent, on a quarter of the electricity.
The filament module — a small swappable cartridge containing the tungsten-carbide coil, the driver, and the bonding wires. The glass shell and brass collar are designed to last a generation.
€15. We ship them in pairs in a kraft sleeve. Replacing one takes about 20 seconds.
Yes — smoothly, 1% to 100%, with no colour shift toward green. Compatible with leading-edge, trailing-edge, and most smart dimmers.
Kickstarter early-bird patrons ship Q3 of this year. Standard pre-orders ship Q4. We don't lock in a date we can't honour.
Because we wanted a bulb whose plans you'd keep — and pass on. Each bulb ships with a 24-page hand-numbered codex on cotton paper. Three plates are hand-signed.
Colophon

One bulb.
An entire life of light.
